Ava turn's 2 1/2 tomorrow, so I thought it would be fitting to write up a little summary about where she's at in sizes, development and other fun stuff!
Sizes:
Ava wears a size 6 shoe! She's got super tiny feet (like mommy I guess). As far as clothes go, she has just now started wearing 2T, even thought a lot of the jeans are too big on her. She is 30 pounds and almost 36 inches tall!
Food:
Ava has become quite picky about her food at home. She eats almost anything that is served at daycare, but she refuses a lot at home. Peer pressure already! Her old stand by’s are cottage cheese, applesauce, chicken tenders, spaghetti, yogurt, bananas, peaches, goldfish crackers, jello, and toast. She also seems to really like pizza and ice cream (just like Daddy!!)
Development:
Probably the place I think that Ava just excels the most is her language skills (and everyone who has known me forever knows she gets this honestly!). She has the clearest speech for a child her age. She’s putting together multiple word sentences, and can pretty much repeat anything that we say (sometimes this is not good!). Some of her favorite things to say:
“I don’t want it Mommy” (love this one!)
“Ava’s Here” (hey, the party doesn’t start till she gets there!)
“Night Night friends” (every time we leave a room where her toys are. Sometimes she will say directly, “night, night Elmo”)
“I want candy Mommy” (this one’s new, but she LOVES candy)
“Get Down Kitty” (loves to boss the kitties around)
“Leave Me Alone” (she knows when she needs her personal space)
She does pretty well with discipline. She gives us the SADDEST little face when we tell her did something “sad”. It breaks my heart, but being a parent is tough! She knows when she does something sad though that she gets a time out. To be honest, the tantrums are not bad at all, and most of the time, she is only acting up when she’s tired. I am thankful for that.
Fun Stuff:
Ava loves books. Just LOVES to read. She will sit for such a long time and just read and read. She does this at school too. I love that she does this! Ava also has a stuffed tiger named “Cubby” that she adores. Cubby pretty much goes everywhere with Ava. It’s adorable and she loves him so much!
She loves going to Chuck E Cheese. She is obsessed!
Her favorite songs to sing are “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” “Wheels on the Bus” “You are my Sunshine” and “The ABC’s”.
Her favorite shows are Sesame Street, Word World, Dora the Explorer and Curious George. She also has re-discovered her Baby Einstein DVD’s and she loves “Alice in Wonderland”, “Shrek” and “Frosty the Snowman”. She also likens herself a princess most of the time.
Mostly, I think I just have the most adorable sweet child on the planet. She has her moments, but I wouldn’t trade her for anything! She is very loved and spoiled rotten, but is such a good girl. Happy ½ birthday baby girl!!!!!
