Halloween Isn't For Babies!

So last night was trick or treating. Why you ask did we trick or treat on Thursday? Because our local municipalities thought it would be best not to have the kiddos out on the night of high school football games - sometimes even the government has commone sense!

And so it was that we went trick or treating last night. It was Ella's first Halloween, and Ava's first Halloween where she actually understood what to do. And - let me just say - she was a ROCKSTAR! We went trick or treating with my sister and my nephew, Zane. Ava was a ball of energy. Going from house to house, barely getting out the words "trick or treat" before bolting to the next house to see if she could get her candy first. She cut through yards, bounded up and down stairs, nothing was standing in her way of her treats!!!!

Ella pretty much hung out in the stroller and slept the whole time. As Ava so matter of factly stated "Halloween isn't for Babies, Mommy".

Here are the pics! :)

Fall Festivities and a Big Milestone!!

This past weekend was filled with lots of fun and one big milestone for the littlest Zimmerman!

Friday and Saturday were pretty much spent around the house, playing outside. Ava LOVES jumping into piles of leaves! She helped Daddy rake them up and also discovered it was fun to put a big pile of leaves at the bottom of the slide and slide into them! Ha!

Sunday was a big day for Ella…she turned 4 months old! And seeing as how at 4 months you are officially allowed some “food” for the first time – we celebrated with rice cereal!

So this is what you call food?

Well, maybe one more bite!

Later on Sunday – we drove up to Pittsburgh to hang out with Tara and Brian…we had TONS of fun. Then we drove over with them to our old ‘hood to visit Trax Farms. We last visited here when Ava was 2 months old, so it was nice to come back. I LOVE that place! So much fun!!

4 Months Old!!

So I thought I would post this *a little* early since I probably wouldn't get a chance to post it until next week. My baby girl is almost 4 months old! I can't even believe that on Sunday she will be 1/3 of thw ay to one year. It seems like just yesterday I was finding out I was pregnant with her, and now here we are!

At 4 months of age, Ella can roll from her belly to her back. Rolling back to belly isn't quite there yet. She can push herself up off the floor while lying on her belly. She holds her head up really well now and loves to check out the world! She is a drooling MACHINE. She will chew on just about anything you put anywhere near her mouth! ha ha She will "talk" to us now...you can hold entire conversations with her just repeating her coos, ga's and squeals to her. She just takes it all in! So far - she's kind of a mommy's girl still, but I am taking advantage of that because I know she will be her daddy's girl in no time!

We will be starting her on some rice cereal next week. We are keeping her on that until she hits 5 months, and then we will start the "real" food. I can't even believe we are going to have to bust out the highchair in a month...it's gone by way too fast already!!!

Testing!!!

Testing, Testing!

Ok guys - I am testing this out to make sure you get a notification for my post on here...would you mind emailing me at nicole.n.zimmerman@gmail.com.

Thanks! Working out the kinks, but hopefully I will be up and running soon! :)

Ella's Christening

Ella’s christening was a really great day! It was so great to see the family that came out just for her! A HUGE thanks to Ella’s godparents (Heather and Nate). I appreciate it more than you know!

The ceremony went well…highlights included Ava’s clapping after every song that was sang (guess I need to get her to church more often?!), the elderly woman (who was apparently a stroke victim) yelling WEEEEEEE about every 5 minutes, and Phil being missing for the Parent’s prayer at the end of mass (Ava had to go potty). I will never forget the priest looking up and looking totally confused when Phil was nowhere to be found! Ha ha

Anyway – here are some pictures from the day!

After Ava got dressed she wanted mommy to take her picture and then got shy!

But then out came her smile!

Ella looked BEAUTIFUL in her christening gown!

For a comparison, here is Ava in the same gown at her christening:

She’s official now! She didn’t seem to mind the water at all either.

A Family picture after mass….Ava was NOT wanting to cooperate!

Afterwards we all came back to the house for some lunch. The girlies had fun eating cupcakes!

Photobucket

My grandparents loved playing with Ella:

And Ava had fun bouncing in her bounce house:

It as a lot of fun – and so nice to hang out with everyone. I am exhausted today though!

Have a great afternoon everyone!!!

Professional Pictures!

The girls professional pictures are in from Target!!! They turned out so well!! I just love going there. Ava didn't really want to do much for the photographer initially...that is until baby sister started getting all of the attention, and THEN she would pose :)

OglebayFest

We went to Oglebayfest again this year...I love this festival...mostly because its about 5 minutes from the house! This was Ella's first trip this year! We took lots of good pictures of the girlies, so I will let the pictures tell the story.

Ava was excited to pose in front of the big fountain at Schenk Lake :)

Posh Spice - Eat your heart out!

Photobucket

Ella had the best seat in the house :)

Photobucket

She loved her balloon!!

Photobucket

Daddy pushed her on the swings for awhile. She loved the playground!

Photobucket

And Mommy hung out with Ella Bella

Photobucket

All in all - it was a great day for everyone! I can't believe all of our usual festivals are about over. I am still trying to talk Phil into going to the Houston Pumpkin festival this weekend...we'll see if he says yes :)

Have a great day!
